Rotib Al-Haddad is in accordance with the name of its composer, Habib Abdullah bin Alawi Al-Haddad.
He was a well-known Islamic reformer (mujaddid).This Rotib was compiled based on inspiration, on the night of Lailatul Qadar 27 Ramadan 1071 Hijriyah, to fulfill the request of one of his students, Amir from the Bani Sad family who lives in Shibam, Hadhramaut.Amir made the request for wirid and dhikr which would be the practice of his village residents so that they could defend and save themselves from the heretical teachings that were plaguing Hadhramaut at that time.This Rotib was first read in Amirs own village, in the city of Shibam after receiving a certificate from Habib Abdullah Al-Haddad himself.This rotib is generally read in congregation together with the prayer after the Isha prayer .
In the month of Ramadan, it is often read before the Isha prayer so that the time for Tarawih prayer is free.With Allahs permission, the areas that practice Rotib are safe to be defended from this heretical influence.
